New Reserve Team Setup

Fakenham Town Football Club is delighted to announce the new Reserve Team setup for the coming season!

Bailey Jordan – Manager
Matty Wheeler – Assistant Manager
Luke Still – Performance Coach

Bailey has outlined a clear ambition for the upcoming season following his appointment, with promotion to the Anglian Combination Premier Division set as the club’s primary objective. After spending the last several years coaching within the Thurlow Nunn U18s League at both Wroxham and Leiston, he believes the move into senior football represents the natural next step in his coaching development.

Ahead of pre-season preparations, Bailey has already begun building the foundations for the campaign, using his strong contacts across the region to attract players and generate early enthusiasm around the squad. He noted that there has already been significant buy-in from those he has spoken with as preparations begin for the new season.

Joining Bailey as assistant manager is Matty Wheeler, someone he has known for several years after the pair completed their UEFA C Licence together in 2022. Although Wheeler has predominantly focused on playing in recent seasons, he enjoyed a highly successful spell managing Sheringham U18s during the 2024/25 campaign, guiding the side to a league title and an appearance in the First Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup.

Wheeler also brings valuable experience within the Anglian Combination, having achieved promotion in each of the last two seasons as a player with Wroxham Reserves and Costessey. Having progressed through the Fakenham Town youth system and previously represented the club’s reserve side, Bailey believes Wheeler is ideally suited to the assistant manager role.

Completing the backroom team is Luke Still, who joins as performance coach. Bailey expressed his confidence that Still will play an important role in ensuring the squad reaches and maintains the highest fitness standards possible throughout the season. In addition to overseeing conditioning work, Still’s responsibilities will include pre- and post-match sports therapy support, with a focus on reducing injuries and helping the squad maintain consistency in pursuit of promotion.
